Connect your patch collection with Revolutionary-era themes through the Sons of Liberty Gadsden DTOM morale patch. This modern embroidered patch measures 3 × 2 inches and uses hook backing for compatible loop panels.
The history behind the name
The Sons of Liberty emerged in the American colonies in 1765 during resistance to the Stamp Act. The tax applied to printed materials such as newspapers and legal documents, prompting objections to taxation by a Parliament in which colonists had no elected representatives.
Resistance groups organized demonstrations and boycotts and pressured stamp distributors to resign. Their methods also included intimidation and destruction of property. These activities helped shape the growing colonial opposition to British rule in the years before the American Revolution.
Historical inspiration, modern design
This product brings together the Sons of Liberty name and Gadsden “Don't Tread on Me” themes. It is a modern morale patch, not an original eighteenth-century artifact or a documented uniform insignia of the historical movement. Today, a wearer may choose it for an interest in American history, personal liberty, or resistance to imposed authority; interpretations vary.
